Care Of Baby Croton

• Requirement: Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal. Crotons need plenty of light to maintain their vibrant coloration.
• Caution: Insufficient light will cause new leaves to come in green instead of variegated, while too much direct sun can scorch the leaves. 

• Frequency: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch.
• Technique: Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, which crotons are prone to developing. 

• Temperature: These tropical plants prefer temperatures between 60–85°F (15–29°C) and will drop leaves if they get too cold. Keep them away from cold drafts.
• Humidity: Crotons thrive in high humidity. You can increase the humidity for an indoor plant by misting the leaves regularly, placing the pot on a pebble tray filled with water, or using a humidifier. 

• Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture. A mixture of potting soil, perlite, and peat moss works well.
• Fertilizer: Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding during the winter months.
